Transfer Press

ERFURT 225-ton, 8-Station Deep-Draw Mechanical Transfer Press

From the double-roll coil-handler, to the computerized zigzag optimizing blanking station, material is carried by means of direct-drive transfer arms and gripper fingers from die-to-die, doing the work of several different machines, all of which makes this transfer press truly a time and labor saving tool. This 225-ton, 8-station configuration, having 400 mm pitch between stations, is an overhead mechanical press that can run from 14 to 40 strokes per minute.

Designing parts to be processed either by deep-draw or by stamping methods significantly adds to a reduction in unit manufacturing costs, including:

  • Use of dies, especially those used for short-run stamping processes, can cost considerably less than the tooling used in other metal-forming methods.

  • Quality, accuracy, function, wear life and appearance can all be dramatically improved.

  • Often, parts can be made from material which is tougher or harder than that obtainable in other processes.

  • Frequently, the number of secondary operations needed to finish a part can be considerably reduced or eliminated for added savings.
  • Cost incrementally reduced as production volume increases.

  • WEINGARTEN 350-ton, 11-station Deep-Draw Transfer Press

Having 300 mm pitch between stations, this is an overhead mechanical press that can run from 25 to 56 strokes per minute. Drawing slide stroke is 450 mm, transfer height is 470 mm, and bolster-clamping area for stations 2-11 is 3000 mm wide by 800 mm deep.
