Precision Tooling

inSync Manufacturing’s extensive tool-and-die, and machine shop, produces high-precision, high-quality dies, die sets, and molds for its own use, and for client machine tool customers, as well for customer tooling requirements.

Dies are used for the repetitive production of sheet metal, sheet plastic, or other materials in various shapes, forms, and sizes. The use of a die permits accurate dimensions to be easily maintained in the manufacturing of piece parts. Dies are mostly used to meet the demands of high-production quantities, i.e., millions of parts can be produced from a single die, although during the process the die and bunches must be sharpened at regular intervals to maintain accuracy.

With large quantities, a large coil of material usually is used, fed through the die by and automatic feeding mechanism attach to and regulated by the press.

The sophisticated die used on the inSync Manufacturing transfer press, for example, is a significant labor-saving (labor reduction = cost-saving) device because of the speed and accuracy of producing a complicated piece-part.

A compound die, of the sort used in inSync Manufacturing’s compound presses, is a precision die used when the complete operation of piercing and blanking is at one station, which operation is completed with one stroke of the press. Because the complete operation is performed in one operation, close tolerances can be held between openings and contour of the part.

The dies described are only two of a multiple array of possible die sets that are used daily in the production of parts and assemblies within the inSync Manufacturing plant. Where desired, the customer may own the tooling.

inSync Manufacturing designs and builds stamping, drawing and progressive dies, as well as special jigs and fixtures. Extensive in-house capabilities aid producing quality tooling, on time and within budget.

Complete repair or rebuilding of your existing tooling to like-new condition, with an absolute minimum of down time for you, is also available.
