Laser Application

5-axis laser technology is applicable both to modeling and to metal forming processes. inSync Manufacturing has demonstrated significant reduction of producer time-to-market while meeting high-level customer expectations. Some processes that once required four to six weeks of lead times can now be accomplished in just a few days.

Whether developing and producing multiple or singular prototypes, or small runs following prototype completion, the customer traditionally looks for product enhancement. For example, common issues include a desire for inSync Manufacturing to improve methods of placing holes, slots, contoured-trimming operations, and all possible variations on these operations.

Use of the multi-axis laser permits achieving hard-tool cost effectively and timely production while using traditional methods; and it enables the company to be fully responsive when the customer introduces change within the development or manufacturing effort.

Highlights
Use of the Laser permits multiple generations of design enhancement and application. Use of multi-axis laser technology provides the means to produce parts having exclusive attributes.

Direct Drive Beam Director
Produces highest accuracy parts, eliminating backlash inherent in gear-drive rotary-tilt heads. The offset design provides great flexibility for processing both deep drawn and very tall parts.

Automatic Focus Control
Our Laserdyne lasers have an exclusive in-process sensing methodology permitting faster setups, with increased accuracy and consistency of laser machined features.

Moving Bridge
The piece being worked on remains stationary to simplify tooling, while minimizing floor space.

Large Work Envelope
The 890 Beam Director handles parts up to 114 inches wide and unlimited length. Alternatively, it will process multiple setups of smaller parts.

Crash Protection/Quick Recovery
Extensive crash protection for all axes is possible since the Beam Director doesn’t use gears in the laser system rotary tilt heads.

Multi-Axis Laser Cutting...
...is just one of the several specializations within inSync Manufacturing. The work envelope of these lasers has capacity to trim full-size truck, van and automobile stamping, aircraft structural and engine components and other large formed parts. The wide, open design provides access for conveyors systems.

Two LaserDyne 890’s sit side-by-side, providing a key production resource resulting in reduced delivery times, clean micro-cutting of complicated patter cut-outs, holes, slots, contoured-trimming operations, and multiple variations per customer requirements.

One of the two lasers actually functions in 9-axes of freedom, even though marketed as a 5-axis machine. Just one more characteristic of the unique aspects of inSync Manufacturing technology!
